Adotion is a miracle.

Day Fourteen-lent challenge – family

Adoption is biblical, I realised something today , adopting a child is not unlike when we get adopted into gods family.
Adopted children have an initial period of settling in a new home and new family learning new ways, surrounded by new people all curious and pleased to meet them and welcome them into the family, at times the child will be scared worried, have feelings they don’t understand, they will need encouragement and love, they may be angry and want their old family back and turn away from their new family , they experience new feeling and emotions and for some it’s the first time in their young lives that they are excepted for who they are, and not punished when things go wrong but forgiven .
Being adopted into gods family we discover and learn so much about ourselves,we need a safe place where we can express our feelings , experience new emotions and need encouragement and know god loves us unconditionally , at times we may be scared and not understand what’s happening to us, god is with 24/7. Even when it’s hard to love us because we disobey, rebel and reject him. He still wants us and calls us his own.
Just as many adoptive parents love their children , even when their children are hard to love they still love them, children push our parenting skills to the limits but we still love them.
Adotion is a miracle.

Ephesians 1:5-6The Message (MSG)

The God of Glory
3-6 How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.
